WELCOME BBQ UPDATE

The Welcome BBQ scheduled for tomorrow

(7th March) has been postponed.

Due to the severe weather conditions today, and the possibility of thunderstorms tomorrow, we are forced to postpone our BBQ to a later date. We will inform you of the new dates very soon, as the MoMU team is still trying to rearrange the event for your convenience.

Please do not turn up at Flagstaff Gardens tomorrow even if the weather changes for the better.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Welcome BBQ and Old Town Makan

First of all, a big thank you to all who had signed up at our booth on Club and Societies Day. We promise we'll do our best to justify your well placed confidence in us.

We'll be kickstarting our activity calendar with the annual FREE Welcome BBQ.

Flagstaff Gardens

The Gardens can be accesed by train, which stops at Flagstaff, and by tram, with No.55 tram accesing via William St and any trams going southwest (towards Docklands) from Latrobe Street. That includes the free City Circle tram. Keep an eye out for our banners.

We'll also be registering members at the event. So if you have not registered, do drop in at the table to sign up.

Please note that existing members (from 2009) will need to renew their membership to continue geting club benefits.

We're also doing an early shoutout for our Old Town Makan Event on 21st March. We have begun sales for early bird tickets. As we will not be opening tables at the union house, tickets will be sold via our club gmail for now.

Club and Societies Day

Just a reminder that the University of Melbourne's Club and Societies Day will be held on

25th February 2010 (Thursday)

and

26th February 2010 (Friday)

from

11.00am to 3.00pm

at

Union Lawn, University of Melbourne

MoMU will be setting up a store at the event, and new as well as returning members will be able to sign up for the 2010 membership. Keep an eye out for our new banners, and the friendly MoMU committee who will be manning the stall.



In keeping with the unique Malaysian spirit of ceplak-ness, this year we'll be giving out special gift bags to the first 200 members who signed up. The gift bags consist of promotional vouchers and freebies from our sponsors. Don't miss out on this once in a blue moon offer!

Pre-Departure Briefing

Heya peeps, here's a quick shout out for the coming

Melbourne University Pre-departure Briefing

which will be held at

Conference Hall 3, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre

on Sunday 31st January 2010

from 1pm to 5pm.

As well as getting to know your soon-to-be university, the event also provides you a chance to meet the works team of MoMU for this year. So if you're keen to know more about the club, don't hesitate to have a chat with the friendly committee members who will be present.

As you must have noticed, we have a new official blog template
(clap clap*).

That said, this is not quite the final product. So do check regularly on our progress, and don't hesitate to provide us the feedback that we so ardently need.

With no further ado, here's a little tour of our new blog template:

"So you see ah, on the left ah, we got the 'HOME' which is the main page lah. Then we got the 'PAST EVENTS' which is the archive of all our events lorr. Then the 'SPONSORS' is......eh this I don't think need to explain right, guarantee everyone go see liao one, syokness.... Then 'COMMITTEE' got all our pretty faces lorr, go see lah! Then 'CONTACT US' is for you to kepo kepo with us one. Then 'Old Blog' is to go back to the last time blog one lorr.

Then you got see three big colourful icons righttt? First one is link to the facebook lorr. Second one is send us email one lorr. And third one ah, hehe.....more of our pretty faces lahhh! Giggles*

Then got the chatbox, is like the kopitiam of MoMU lah, for you to kepo kepo more!

Then got the Affiliates lor, which got all our kawan kawan! And they also like us one, like to kepo kepo. So go visit them also ah!"
